One thing we really love about our New England weddings is the opportunity for our brides to go nautical. We adore the casual, yet classic feel this brings to their events, and Emma + Nate’s couldn’t be a more perfect example. E + N decided to get married in Cape Cod because it’s a place that is very special to them both. E’s extended family has been traveling to Cape Cod every summer for the past 100 years(!!!), and N’s family has traveled from Ohio to Martha’s Vineyard every summer for as long as he can remember as well. E + N’s families actually have a LOT more in common than that, but we’ll let them tell you:
“Nate and I met through a mutual acquaintance at a welcome picnic for new students at the beginning of our freshman year at Kenyon College in Gambier, OH. Interestingly, Nate’s father, brother, uncle, two cousins and sister-in-law all went to Kenyon as well. My grandfather, mother, father, two uncles, two aunts and one cousin are also Kenyon alumni. Our fathers were both in the class of ’53 (but they didn’t know each other). One more crazy Kenyon-cest fact, and then I’m done: both my paternal grandparents and my parents met at Kenyon; my parents even got married there (as did Nate’s brother and his wife). It’s a little out of control, but we love it just the same!”
CLEARLY these two were MORE than meant to be! You better believe there was some Kenyon College love at the reception (don’t miss the toast!). So much love to you both, and congratulations from the bottom of our hearts. xoxo!
